Joanne Wood Scholarship
The Joanne Wood Scholarship Fund is a charity organization. It was created in 2012 to honor the life of Joanne Wood and help with something she believed in strongly, education. The Joanne Wood Scholarship Fund was established shortly after Joanne’s death in 2012 by her family, friends, and colleagues as a way to honor and remember her.
Joanne Wood was diagnosed with primary amyloidosis in January of 2006. Joanne Wood received exceptional care for her amyloidosis at Boston Medical Center, one of the leading centers in the world for amyloidosis treatment and research. She also received outstanding care for her cardiac disease by her world-renowned cardiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. These doctors worked as a team to help Joanne in her battle with this terrible disease, which ultimately took her life.
