Amrut Ambardekar, MD is the Medical Director of Cardiac Transplantation and Cardiac Amyloidosis Program.
This multi-disciplinary team’s goal is to facilitate the rapid diagnosis and comprehensive treatment for patients with all types of cardiac amyloidosis. The University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado is the only hospital in the greater-Colorado region, one of only a handful in the country, that can provide the full spectrum of care for cardiac amyloid patients. Every diagnostic modality for Cardiac Amyloidosis, including cardiac MRI, Technetium Pyrophosphate nuclear imaging, genetic testing with counseling, myocardial biopsy and bone marrow biopsy, are routinely performed at this center.
In addition, patients can receive comprehensive treatment within their Advanced Heart Failure program that can include care coordination with local cardiology practices throughout the region. This is the only program in the region offering patients advanced treatment options such as Bone Marrow Transplantation, Cardiac Transplantation and access to the latest clinical trials of new therapeutic agents.
