Dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA) is a serious complication of long-term hemodialysis (HD). Its pathogenic mechanism involves accumulation of β2-microglobulin (β2M) in the blood. β2M is produced by most cells in the body and is metabolized in the kidney in healthy individuals. However, in HD patients with renal dysfunction, β2M which is not removed entirely by HD accumulates excessively in the blood. Then it forms amyloid fibrils that are deposited in bones, joints, and soft tissues.

Approximately 1.5 million of the 44 million Blacks in the United States are carriers of the valine-to-isoleucine substitution at position 122 (V122I) in the transthyretin (TTR) protein. Virtually exclusive to Blacks, this is the most common cause of hereditary cardiac amyloidosis (hATTR-CA) worldwide. hATTR-CA leads to worsening heart failure (HF) and premature death. Fortunately, new therapies that stabilize TTR improve morbidity and mortality in hATTR-CA, especially when prescribed early in the disease.

The primary objective of this study is to define the intracardiac flow imaging biomarkers in cardiac amyloidosis.

This study will investigate 99mTc-p5+14, an amyloid-reactive synthetic peptide, p5+14, radiolabeled with technetium-99m, as a radiotracer for detecting paamyloid deposits in patients with AL or ATTR-associated systemic amyloidosis, notably with cardiac involvement.

The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (TTR-CA) among patients with moderate and severe aortic stenosis in Southeast Minnesota using 99mTc-PYP single-photon positive emission computed tomography with computed tomography (SPECT/CT).

This phase II trial compares shorter-duration versus longer-duration maintenance therapy with daratumumab for improving survival in patients who have received initial treatment with daratumumab for light chain (AL) amyloidosis. Maintenance therapy is treatment that is given to help keep cancer from coming back after it has disappeared following initial therapy. Daratumumab is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It binds to a protein called CD38, which is found on some types of immune cells and cancer cells, including myeloma cells.

To collect, preserve, and/or distribute annotated biospecimens and associated medical data to institutionally approved, investigator-directed biomedical research to discover and develop new treatments, diagnostics, and preventative methods for specific and complex conditions.

The purpose of this study is assess safety, safest dose, and effectiveness of venetoclax in combination with dexamethasone in participants with t(11;14) positive relapsed (comes back) or refractory (did not get better) light chain amyloidosis.

This is a prospective, non-interventional, Long-term, multinational cohort safety study of patients with Hereditary Transthyretin Amyloidosis with Polyneuropathy (hATTR-PN). The overarching goal of this study is to further characterize the long-term safety of TEGSEDI (inotersen) in patients with hATTR-PN under real-world conditions.
