Medicine Supply Shortage Alert: Tegsedi® (inotersen)

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has announced that Tegsedi® (inotersen) will become unavailable in the EU from the end of 2026.

Tegsedi® is used to treat hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (hATTR) in adults with stage 1 or stage 2 nerve damage.

The medicine will no longer be available in the EU from the end of 2026. Healthcare professionals should plan ahead and discuss appropriate alternative treatment options with affected patients. The shortage is due to the manufacturer's permanent discontinuation of Tegsedi for commercial reasons, including low uptake because of available alternatives.
