Anselamimab Reduces Mortality and Cardiovascular Hospitalizations in Kappa AL Amyloidosis

Source
Hematology Advisor

Anselamimab therapy is associated with improved all-cause mortality (ACM) and reduced cardiovascular hospitalizations (CVHs) in patients with kappa immunoglobulin light chain (AL) amyloidosis, according to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

AL amyloidosis is a rare condition in which misfolded proteins accumulate in the body, most notably in organs such as the heart and kidneys.

There are currently no therapies that effectively remove amyloid fibrils that have already been deposited in the organs. Mortality from cardiac events remains unchanged despite recent therapeutic advancements.
