The efficacy of diflunisal for the treatment of hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) was confirmed by data from the Swedish ATTR registry, according to a recent study published in Amyloid.

These real-world findings align with a pivotal clinical trial (NCT00294671) completed in 2012 that tested the effect of the treatment on familial amyloidosis.

The study’s authors said that these results offer “long-term real-world evidence” confirming the efficacy of diflunisal.
