Echocardiographic Score Shows High Diagnostic Performance for ATTR-CM

Source
Rare Disease Advisor

An echocardiographic scoring model showed high diagnostic performance for transthyretin-mediated cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CM), according to a study recently published in Heart & Lung.

Although multimodal imaging has improved ATTR-CM detection rates, patient identification in most cases still begins with clinical suspicion using accessible, cost-effective tools such as elecrocardiography (ECG) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE).

In this large multicenter study, the researchers focused on identifying key ECG and echocardiographic markers of ATTR-CM to construct a practical diagnostic score.
