Christoph Rocken is the Director of the Department of Pathology at the University Hospital Schleswig Holstein (UKSH), Campus Kiel, Germany. He studied Chemistry at the University of Munster, and Medicine at the University of Hamburg. He was a medical resident at the Institute of Pathology of the St. Mary's Hospital Hamburg and then resident at the Institute of Pathology of the University Hospital Hamburg Eppendorf where he gained his medical degree.
Dr. Rocken's main research focus is in the field of hepato-gastrointestinal pathology and amyloidosis. The aim is to use modern methods in genomics and proteomics to find new prognostic and predictive markers in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal tumours and amyloidosis for the individualised and targeted treatment of patients.
