AL amyloidosis is when abnormal proteins called light chains collect in organs. UCSF is studying a drug for people with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma or treated AL amyloidosis. UCSF is also joining a multicenter study that screens people age 40 and up with smoldering multiple myeloma.
