ATTR-CM or transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy is a heart muscle condition that is caused by abnormal protein depositing in the heart muscle, and making its function quite compromised. Patients who have ATTR-CM or transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy develop symptoms of heart failure where they get winded with activity, or they can end up with issues with fluid retention, swelling in the legs, coughing, fluid in the lungs, shortness of breath laying flat.
