Matthias Schmidt

Matthias Schmidt is a Scientist at the Institute of Protein Biochemistry - Universitat Ulmexternal link, opens in a new tab. His primary area of research is amyloidosis. In his lab, the team works on the structural analysis of different amyloid fibrils, including fibrils from Alzheimer's disease, but their main focus is mainly on ex vivo fibrils from systemic amyloidosis (AA-amyloidosis and AL-amyloidosis).
Dr. Schmidt is currently working with different amyloid fibrils and reconstructs them at high resolution to create an atomic model.
