Key Information
Last week, ASNC welcomed clinicians from around the world to Confirming the Diagnosis of ATTR-CM, the first webinar in this year’s Cardiac Amyloidosis for Community Cardiologists seriesexternal link, opens in a new tab. Expert faculty delivered a deep dive on how to recognize patients already in your practice who may have ATTR CM and follow guideline based recommendations to provide prompt, accurate diagnoses.
“A key takeaway is that amyloid frequently coexists with atrial fibrillation, aortic stenosis, HFpEF, orthopedic issues, and/or frailty – disease-states we often see in elderly patients,” says Series Co-director David Wolinsky, MD, MASNC. “Our initial tasks are finding these patients, assessing whether amyloidosis could be the underlying condition, and then following the guidelines to arrive at accurate diagnoses.”
