summary/abstract

I Am a Transplant Patient. What Should I do to Protect Myself From COVID-19?
Because end-stage organ disease and immunosuppression post-transplant weakens the body's immune system, pre- and post-transplant patients are among those at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19. To protect yourself from COVID-19, follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for people who need to take extra precautions.

Should I Wear a Face Mask?
Wearing a face mask is unlikely to protect you from getting COVID-19. However, it may prevent you from infecting others if you are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 without showing symptoms. This is particularly important if you will be around health care providers or other transplant patients while getting treatment.
