Treatment of this disease depends upon the type, location and severity of the disease. Since amyloidosis is a rare disease, its treatment options are still evolving and some are under clinical trials.

For the treatment of this disease, various drugs are used but it is not mandatory that if these drugs work effectively on one patient, it will have the same effect on others too.

For treatment of primary amyloidosis, various techniques and medications are used to eliminate extra protein from the bone marrow. Chemotherapy with certain drugs, steroids and many more are used to manage this disease. In Familial amyloidosis, a patient should not receive chemotherapy.
